Norwegian student paper Universitas brings quite a nice review of the Kennel sampler CD. Unfortunately for some of you it is in Norwegian, but here’s some of it:
Philco Fiction is described as gentle jazz-pop that sends shivers down your spine, while Ontz sounds like children’s TV-jazz (!) meets Beach Boys. Lasse Passage gets compared to Sondre Lerche while Kristin Minde is described as a relative of Norwegian pop princess Marit Larsen. Blokk 5’s “Scandimals” is said to be a summary of the career of Motorpsycho.
A lot of strange comparisons but they assure us that it is all ment in a positive way.

Nils Martin Larsen aka Lama has done a interview with Norwegian music blog furoreiharare.com, where he amongst other things talks about the upcoming release of “Guidebook to Lamaland”. You need to be skilled in the Norwegian language to enjoy this, but if you are go ahead and read the interview.

Lasse Passage and Lama are both releasing their debut albums this fall. “Guidebook to Lamaland” will be out on Spoon Train Audio in November. Exact date is yet to be decided. The same goes for Lasse’s “If you don´t have time to cook, you don´t have time to live”.

31. oktober-1. november arrangerer Kennel festival på Soria Moria. Det blir musikk fra tre scener to dager til ende. I vår hadde vi tre vellykkede konsertkvelder med medlemmer fra Kennel, og nå vil vi ta det ett steg videre ved å arrangere en festival med band og artister som vi på ulike måter har tilknytning til.
Det er foreløpig litt for tidlig til at vi kan røpe noen artister, men dette og nærmere informasjon om festivalen vil dukke opp på denne siden i løpet av høsten. Sett av disse to dagene og følg med her for oppdateringer.
We had three beautiful nights with eight bands at Soria Moria this spring. Now the time has come for all you regular folks to do some dancing. Johan (Nancy Drew, Blokk 5) and Steinar (Blokk 5) will be playing beautiful music at Soria Moria next Friday, June 27th that is. Come and dance with us.
We have put together a small promo CD with tracks from all Kennel bands. The tracklist is a mix of previously released material, to-be released recordings and demo tracks. Kennel Collector will be released on the second Kennel Night at Soria Moria, May 7th. Let us know if you want to get your hands on a copy.
